Dr. Laura C. Hohnecker has been providing treatment and evaluation services since 1975 to people of all ages, as well as specialized services to disabled individuals, abuse and trauma survivors, victims of domestic violence, and gay, lesbian and bisexual clients. Prior to private practice, Dr. Hohnecker worked in various inpatient, residential and community programs. She has also received specialized training in Psychopharmacology, Family Mediation and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. In 2006, she became a court-certified Family Mediator and is a parent coordinator.
Dr. Hohnecker has directed programs for child abuse victims and battered women and was President of the South Florida Association for Trauma based Disorders in 1988. She has also researched, written and conducted training on Dissociative Identity Disorders, Trauma Resolution, Domestic Violence and Workplace Crisis Intervention. Dr. Hohnecker is a graduate of Morehead State University, Ohio University and Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Carol A. Wartenberg* has been providing psychological services since 1979 to individuals of all ages, as well as specialized services to severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents, abuse and trauma survivors, and gay, lesbian and bisexual clients. Dr. Wartenberg is also a certified School Psychologist and currently works with severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents for the Broward County School Board.
Dr. Wartenberg has developed and directed several treatment programs and has taught courses in psychology at both the community and doctoral levels. She was the President of the Broward County Psychological Association in 1991 and has conducted workshops in topics ranging from Dissociative Identity Disorder to the Treatment of Children and Adolescents. Additionally, she has received specialized training in psychopharmacology, Family Mediation, and Arbitration. Dr. Wartenberg is a graduate of Georgia State University and University of Georgia.
Dr. Jonina D. Bolton offers psychological services to address a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma resolution, relationship problems, and personal growth and exploration. She also provides specialized services for veterans, as well as for family and friends of deployed military personnel. In addition to therapy services, Dr. Bolton conducts diagnostic assessments, comprehensive psychological evaluations, and educational testing to identify learning disorders and other academic issues.
Prior to joining Psychological Alliance, Dr. Bolton worked in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient hospitals, student and group counseling centers, domestic violence and sexual assault programs, and the Miami VA Medical Center. She also has facilitated educational programs and presented lectures for students, veterans, legal professionals and healthcare providers on the topics of domestic violence, sexual assault and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Dr. Bolton is a graduate of Connecticut College and Nova Southeastern University.
Our Business
Psychological Alliance P.L. was founded in 1992 by Dr. Carol A. Wartenberg and Dr. Laura C. Hohnecker to combine their successful individual psychology practices and to provide a wider range of services to patients. In 2004, we welcomed Dr. Jonina D. Bolton to the practice.
*Although Dr. Wartenberg is still a partner in the practice, she currently works full-time for the Broward County School Board and is not accepting new patients.
